Hot Meals

The school is supplied with hot school meals from 'Willoughby Foods Ltd'

From September 2014, children in Reception, Year1 and Year 2 were eligible for free school meals under the Government Scheme - 'Universal Free School Meals for Infants'. We strongly encourage and promote this initiative. We urge all parents with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to take advantage of the 'Universal Free School Meal for Infants'.

The universal eligibility checking service for 'Free School Meals' has changed! This system determines the eligibility Free School Meals and for Pupil Premium Funding. The Pupil Premium Funding generates extra funding for schools. If you are in receipt of the benefits listed below we would ask that you visit the following link and complete the on-line Pupil Premium Form. https://lcc.cloud.servelec-synergy.com/parentportal.

  • Universal Credit, provided you have an annual net earned income not exceeding £7,400 (£616.67 per month)
  • Income-based Job Seeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child tax Credit provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by MH Revenue and Customs) that does not exceed £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit 'run-on' - payment someone may receive for a further 4 weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.

From 1st April 2018, all existing Free School Meals pupils will continue to receive fresh school meals whilst Universal Credit is rolled out, this is called Transitional Protection. This will apply even if parents' earnings rise above the new threshold during that time.

Meals are charged at £2.30 per day.

All ordering and payment of hot school meals is managed by Willoughby Foods Ltd. Once you have registered with Willoughby Foods Ltd (email: admin@willoughby-foods.co.uk) meals can be ordered by logging on to their website using the username and password that Willoughby Foods Ltd issue to each parent. Please follow the instructions on the website. If you do not have access to the internet, please contact the school office for for information.

The menu includes a choice of four main meals (one of these being the vegetarian option and one being the cold option and one being a 'jacket potato' option) and two dessert options Fresh fruit is available every day. This gives children a wide choice of healthy meals to choose from.

Water is provided with meals. If your child does not wish to have water please provide them with a drink (NOT fizzy). Free Milk is provided for all children eligible to Free School Meals. A small portion of milk is provided to all children taking up the Universal Free School Meals for Infants. Parents may also register with 'Cool Milk' and purchase milk for their child. Meals cancelled on the day will not be refunded. Willoughby Foods Ltd will require 24 hours' notice to cancel a meal. Meals can only be cancelled for reasons of a school trip or long term sickness of a child.
