'Robin's Nest' Grand Opening

At Donington Cowley Endowed Primary School, we are delighted to open our newest facility ‘Robin’s Nest’. Funded by Cowley Trust, our new library provides an incredible learning environment to be enjoyed by all. Reading is the gateway to learning and we are passionate in our commitment to ensuring all children develop a love of reading. This has been recognised through our Lincolnshire Reading Pledge Awards and, having achieved Bronze and Silver, we are now working towards Gold Award. Through the opportunities we offer, our aim is to ignite children’s imagination, evoke curiosity and inspire awe and wonder through captivating literary journeys. Robin’s Nest provides a wonderful environment for exploring texts, shared and independent reading and storytelling.

Already, we have exciting ideas of how this facility will be further developed… Watch this space!!

Our school recognises how privileged we are to be supported by The Cowley Trust and are incredibly grateful for their generosity which has enabled us to develop our school facilities. We would like to thank them for their donations and for their unwavering commitment to our children.

Nursery Grand Opening

Following the Grand Opening by Matt Timings (Co-Chair of Governors), the doors were opened to the youngest members of our school community on Monday 8th September 2025.
DfE funding has made our vision for early years development possible, and we now have funded spaces for children aged 3 within our school-based nursery. We are delighted to see the results of months of work and preparation from our Early Years and Site Management teams. Our purpose-built nursery is designed to enhance all areas of learning, evoke curiosity and ignite imagination. It has been wonderful to see how well the children have settled in and are enjoying exploring their new environment. School-based nursery provision provides a wealth of benefits and opportunities within our school and local community, supporting transitions, providing excellent early education and care, and increasing childcare sufficiency within Donington and surrounding areas. We are excited to see the growth and development of our nursery and look forward to welcoming nursery children into our school.
