Donington Christmas Market
On Sunday, 1st December, both our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 choirs were invited to perform at the Donington Christmas Market. They performed several Christmas songs to the public and during their finale of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, "snow" magically started to fall which they very much enjoyed. The choir sang beautifully and were very proud to get involved with the community and represent our school.
Our Summer term 2024 topic in KS1 is 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'. As part of this topic we held an exciting Transport Day with children from Pointon school. Donington Community Fire Station, Inkley Farm in Donington and Freshlinc Spalding provided us with a fire engine, tractor and HGV lorry.
The children loved learning about the vehicles and also sitting in them! Thank you for your support.
On Wednesday 19th April we invited members of the Cowley Trust and East Midlands Railway into our school for the opening of our brand new Multi Sensory room.
Both the Cowley Trust and East Midlands Railway Community Fund have been very generous in their donations to the school, so we were very excited and proud to welcome them into our school to show them where their money goes and how it benefits the children and the school.
"Many thanks for the invite to come along to your school today.
The sensory room this morning was awesome and certainly money well spent.
Also, I would like to say thank you for the time you gave with our tour of the school. For me, it was great to see the many activities available for the children where outdoor experiences are part of their massive learning curve.
The confidence and happiness shown by the children was fantastic to see and proved to me that they really like being at the school."
