Our School Councillors (2025-2026):
Year 1: Ronnie and Ariya
Year 2: Arlo and Becca
Year 3: Casey and Eva
Year 4: Carter and Ruby
Year 5: Ilan and Olivia
Year 6: Jaxon and Florence
At the start of this academic year, two children per year group were chosen to represent our school as school councillors. Since then, they have had their first School Council meeting with Miss Allen to talk about some exciting events happening this year ahead!
October 2025:
This month, School Council have been meeting weekly to discuss upcoming events and ideas for Superkind (children completing actions which benefit others or the community).Â
We have also rasied awarness for World Mental Health Day (10th October 2025) by allowing children to understand what mental health is and giving out slips of paper for children to write either a kind message or a way to support mental health. We have since attached these together to create a paperchain which is displayed in the hall.
November 2025
From the 10th of November to the 14th of November, it is Anti-Bullying week and this ties in with our PSHE topic this term: Celebrating Difference. We have started the week with Odd Socks Day, which recognises being different and raises awareness of Anti-Bullying week.
December 2025
During this month, School Council have worked hard to come up with different ideas for stalls we could have at the Christmas Fayre. They thought it would be best to have a stall where children could complete an activity and decided on decorating cookies with Christmas sprinkles. Every member of School Council helped out at the stall and did an excellent job at helping other children with the activity.
February 2026
This month included Time to Talk day and School Council wanted to do something to raise awareness of Mental Health. They decided to create a bingo card which was made up of 20 ways that children could support their own mental health and the mental health of others. This was sent home with every child in the school and children had the option to bring them back to recieve a certificate and a Superkind badge in assembly.Â
March 2026
For Comic Relief, the Councillors chose the theme of wearing red, white and black to raise awareness of Red Nose Day. They also asked parents to send in a money donation which would be sent to Comic Relief. Throughout the day, children completed various Red Nose Day activities, including an art competition where they designed a Comic Relief t-shirt. 4 winners were chosen and revealed in assembly. We also included the slogan 'doing something funny for money' and asked children to bring in their funniest jokes to share with the rest of their class!
